Are you a teacher? Do you have different bits of information and knowledge you can teach a child or an adult? If so then you may want to consider becoming a private tutor diamond bar. As a private tutor you have the ability to set your own hours, find your own students and set your own rates. You also have the ability to develop specific curriculum for each student.
Getting students for your private tutoring can be touch. However, with a little advertising and self-promotion you should be okay. When looking for students you will want to offer a free class. This free class should be thirty minutes in lengths and cover some basic material. In the sample class you can judge if you can help this particular student or not. You can also see if the student will be willing to put in the time and effort to learn the material. Getting a student just for the sake of having a student isn’t always a good thing. It has to be a harmonious joining.
Scheduling should be consistent. You don’t want to have one class on Monday at two and then another on Friday at six. True, different students will have different times that they can meet and you will need to adjust, however, it is your business and you need to teach when you are at your best.
When developing assignments be creative. Taking assignments right out of books as they are is okay, but not really interactive. When creating your lesson plans and assignments you want to include multimedia activities and interactions. It has been shown that students learn more by doing instead of reading and listening. Try to incorporate your assignments with fun activities.
How much should you charge? This is the million-dollar question. The truth is, it is up to you. You will want to see what the going rate is for tutors in your area, but it will have to come down to what is your time worth? You don’t want to under charge and you don’t want to over charge. You don’t want people to take advantage of you and you don’t want them to think they are getting ripped off. Start at a base rate for hour and then add additional service add-ons. When you work like this then you can play with your pricing and have a core rate you know you will have.
